HeidiA dog, a dal, a pet you’ve had for years A friend that’s there to help you calm your fears. Each night, before I’d start to fall asleep From the hall through my doorway she would peep; And when the morn came if just let to run, On my bed she’d jump to look for fun. Then out the door to greet the brand new day And spend her time asleep or wanting to play. But then her age started to take it’s toll And soon her body began to feel the lull Leg pains, bad food, nerve ends all hurt her more, But I was unprepared for what life had in store.
